The department of Transport and Traffic Engineering provides courses in the design and management of urban and rural road networks, aerodromes, port infrastructure, traffic flow analysis and design, road safety, and interaction of motorized and non-motorized traffic and pedestrians. Successful graduates are given the respective awards in civil engineering with specialization in Transport and Traffic Engineering. Graduates are imparted with skills to design, construct, and manage major infrastructure projects in line with the industrialization aspirations of the nation. Courses are conducted through classroom teaching and tutorials, laboratory work and industrial attachment. In their final year of study, students carry out a supervised research project.
